Car Alarms: 2001 Camaro with Code Alarm wont start., camaro v6, flash pause

Question
Hello,
I recently bought a 2001 Camaro V6 with a Code Alarm Elite-4200
in it.  The alarm kept going off and I figured out that the hood
switch was the culprit.  After I disconnected the hood switch, I
started the car once, then shut it off and armed the alarm.
I came back about 30 min later and the alarm LED was doing the
two flash - pause - two flash- pause thing.  The car would not
start at that point.  I turned the key on and pushed the valet
button until the alarm chirped and the LED went out.
The car still will not start.  When I turn the key to the
start position, nothing happens, just like when the starter
kill is engaged.

Any ideas?  Please help - Thank you.

Answer
Odd.

Have you tried to reset as if the alarm was in Long
Tamper mode? (key on press and hold in valet to override,
key off. Then retry the start using the ignition key?)

That would reset the starter kill relay if it is grounding
starter wire out. If it's the Code at work here.....

The other thing that comes to mind is the VATS system in the Camaro.
This, if engaged, would try to start, run for a sec, and
die. But from the sounds of it, if you get zip-0-nada from the
engine, it's likely the starter kill relay inline on the Code.

Let me know.
