Car Alarms: 2002 Chevy Tahoe wont start because of alarm system, chevy tahoe, valet mode

Question
QUESTION: I have a 2002 Chevy Tahoe with an Audiovox alarm system that is not receiving power to the alarm's main brain. Now that the alarm system does NOT have power going to it my engine won't start because i can't deactivate the alarm with the remote. How do i bypass the alarm so the I can start the engine ? or how do i restore power to the alarm system to deactivate it to start the engine?

ANSWER: Ok, this truck also has PASSLOCK II so I need
to determine what you are experiencing to suggest a fix.

Is the engine trying to crank, then dies each time?
Or, when you turn the key, is there nothing at all?
No engine sounds at all?

Let me know.

QUESTION: When i turn the key nothing happens at all. No engine sounds or anything. Everything has power but the alarm.

Answer
Ok, should be fairly easy. To try to disarm it,
look under the dash area for a button or,
a toggle switch. When you locate it, turn on the
ignition key, press and hold in the button (little
spring loaded micro button, red or black possibly)
until the alarm chirps 1 time. This should over ride
the system, and only the keyless entry part,
if installed, would still be operating.
The LED (light emiting diode) light in the dash
should also go on solid.=VALET/OVERIDE

This stops the alarm except for the keyless
entry if installed. Once in Valet mode,
it will allow the car to start and operate
like there was no alarm at all.

That should solve the troubles for now.
Repeat the steps to toggle back to valet when needed.

Let me know what you discover.
