Car Alarms: key chip/security system, nissan maxima, security system

Question
I have a 1998 Nissan Maxima. Can we disconnect the security system? or reset chip in key? The car turns over and some times it starts for few seconds then shuts off. I think it is the chip in my key? (we only have 1 key) Husband put code reader on it and it said something about security system activated. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

No ma'am. at this point, you will need to
see a techncian to evaluate the issue and
suggest a repair.

This vehicle does not show a "chip key", so
the issue may be the ignition itself.
Transponder "chips" started being
used in 1999 in the Maxima.

I'd have it looked at for another problem.
