Car Alarms: Automate 553 for Mitsubishi, mitsubishi gallant, designtech

I have a Mitsubishi Gallant 2000 with an Automate 553 alarm.  It stopped working - got new batteries for the clicker but still the alarm goes off - can't start the car now.  How do we disarm the alarm long enough to take it to dealer?
