Car Alarms: 2002 HONDA ACCORD, alarmtek, honda accord ex

   I OWN A 2002 HONDA ACCORD EX V6 2DR. I PURCHASED THE CAR NEW AND IT NOW HAS ABOUT 77,000 MILES. A FEW DAYS AGO THE SECURITY ALARM STARTED GOING OFF FOR NO APPARENT REASON AFTER THE CAR IS PARKED AND THE ALARM IS ACTIVATED. THE ALARM MAY GO OFF 10 MINS. AFTER THE CAR IS PARKED OR IT MAY TAKE SEVERAL HOURS. I TRIED DISCONNECTING THE BATTERY FOR SEVERAL MINUTES BUT THIS DIDN'T SOLVE THE PROBLEM.

Please be more descriptive if possible.

"GOING OFF?"

I need to determine whether it's a factory alarm
issue or, if it's an aftermarket system you are
dealing with.

Is it: Headlights flashing, car horn honking
and a worded SECURITY" light in the dash flashing?
(doubtfull since none of the notes show this
car as having a factory alarm system)=FACTORY

Or,

is it: flashing parking lights,
an LED in the dash area, and a siren
going off?= AFTER MARKET

Let me know more on this to better
advise you on a course of action
to take.
