Car Alarms: alarm went off, now car wont start, alarmtek, entry buttons

2001 Honda Civic HX. I was going to use it to jump my Sable, cleaned nasty +post on battery, hooked up cables. Then alarm chirped once. When I went to get in and start the car, alarm went off, car wouldn't start. Now, no matter what I do with my keys, opening the door or trying to turn the ignition makes the alarm go off. There are no instructions for alarm in my owner's manual other than the fact that it has a fuel immobilizer. I do not have any remote entry buttons or anything. Just a chunky black key (with a chip inside, I assume).

Please be more descriptive if possible.

"GOING OFF?"

I need to determine whether it's a factory alarm
issue or, if it's an aftermarket system you are
dealing with.

Is it: Headlights flashing, car horn honking
and a worded SECURITY" light in the dash flashing?
(doubtfull since none of the notes show this
car as having a factory alarm system)=FACTORY

Or,

is it: flashing parking lights,
an LED in the dash area, and a siren
going off?= AFTER MARKET

Let me know more on this to better
advise you on a course of action
to take.
