Car Alarms: Doors wont lock/unlock, 2005 ford freestar, ford freestar

Question
QUESTION: I have a autopage alarm system rs-855 with transceiver remote for my 2005 Ford Freestar that intermittently responds to the lock/unlock command. I can't even lock/unlock from the push buttons inside the vehicle is this an alarm brain fault or vehicle fuse problem or faulty wiring? I also seem to have a problem with the transceiver remote it does not receive information from the vehicle anymore... Please Help me Obi-Wan Kenobi, You're My Only Hope.

ANSWER: Without first hand inspection my young apprentice,
I can not be certain. But I feel the answer is
within you.

Please enlighten me on a couple of inquiries
known only to those who are 1 with the force.

1st, Please tell me where the antenna is placed.
This is valuable info so we can determine positioning.

2nd, If working all this time, and now not so much,
what precipitated the change? Bad battery in the remote perhaps?
Let's change that and try again.

3rd and last my newest Padawan, tell me where the wiring was
done for your door lock interface between the AUTOPAGE and
the OEM FORD door lock and unlock wire. This is
a negative door locks system, and the easiest of
all to work with. Odd that you are having a connection
or misconfiguration. I am leaning towards the 2nd of
the options here if all else is equal, and there was
no undue disturbance in the Force.

Have your R2 unit report your findings
so I can help more.

QUESTION: Thank you for the quick response Master Jedi-ALARMTEK The antenna is placed on the far left of the windshield 1/4 of the way up, The remote does work to send but does not receive and I have changed the battery several times, and to the last question I have no clue where the wiring was done you called it! I am a new Padawan but with great potential please teach me the ways of the force.

Answer
Ah, Smart you will be!

If you would, please locate the proper
location of these wires in the FREESTAR:

Power Unlock is DARK BLUE/GREEN   (-) in the DRIVER'S KICK PANEL
PowerLock is WHITE/VIOLET (-) DRIVER'S KICK PANEL
YOU CAN ALSO FIND THESE WIRES IN HARNESS THAT
RUNS ABOVE HOOD RELEASE.

Once found, locate the AUTOPAGE'S attached wires
and evaluate HOW they are connected. If T taps
were use, shame on the installer.
Cut these off.

Strip a bit of vinyl of both of the FORD's wires
to expose the copper on each. Do the same
with the discovered lock and unlock outputs
from the alarm and either solder or wrap
securely, test for proper functionality with
the remote, and black tape off for safety.

Let me know how it went.
