Car Alarms: 94 Camaro Factory Alarm, dash switch, factory stereo

Question
I just bought a 94 camaro. I went to unhook the battery, and when
reconnecting, the alarm sounded. I was not given a remote for the alarm, and
actually I didn't think it was working. I found out how to disarm the alarm
with the under dash switch. I would like to use this system, but I do not have
the remote or factory stereo to set pass code. Can I purchase a remote and
still use the system? If so, where should I go?
