Car Alarms: Accord 97 SE Security System (Alarm), valet mode, dash area

Question
QUESTION: Hi,
The problem is that the alarm goes off frequently for no apparent reason, only when it is hot, in the summertime (even in the garage where it is not that hot), but it never happens in the wintertime.
I red the ansver suggesting to press the valet button, when the alarm goes off for no apparent reason, but I have not been able to locate any button or switch under my dash.
Ideas are more than welcome.

Best regards
Peter

ANSWER: Ok, an installer would place the velet switch in a semi
hidden area. I'd look under the dash area
for a button or, a toggle switch. When you locate it,
turn on the ignition key, press and hold in the
button (little spring loaded micro button, red or
black possibly), until the alarm chirps 1 time.
This should over ride the system, and only the
keyless entry part, if installed, would still be
operating.

The LED (light emiting diode) light in the dash
should also go on solid.=VALET/OVERIDE

This stops the alarm except for the keyless
entry if installed. Once in Valet mode,
it will allow the car to start and operate
like there was no alarm at all.

I hope this works for you.

QUESTION: Thank you for the answer - he must have hidden it very well, I have spent a lot of time checking the dash, and under the dash - I cant find it, is it possible that it is not there ? - the owners manual does not mention a valet button.
I tested a couple of other things - opened the hood, and the alarm still set when I locked the doors (with the key, I, the remote has fallen apart) - then I opened the trunk and locked the doors, now the alarm did not set.
Also is the fact that the alarm only goes off in warm weather an indication of anything ? - we had the problem last summer, no problems all winter, and now it's back.

Thank you again
Peter

Answer
Well there is a factory system in this car, but it
does not have a remote. So unless you locate
the valet override switch, the next option is
to unplug and repair the wiring on the after market
system entirely, then start fresh with a new
set of remotes and system.
