Car Alarms: car alarm, nissian altma, correct key


Question
i have a 2005 nissian altma ,how do i test the alarm system. everyone tells me the car has a alarm system ,how do i use it . on the dash there is a red blinking light , when i lock the doors. i tried locking the doors  with the window down ,and then reaching inside to open the door ,to see if it will set the alarm off but nothing. i've tried rocking the car and nothing. the key chain remote have lock unlock panic and trunk

Ok, well it does. Promise. Actually it has 2.
And if no remote, is controlled at the drivers
door key switch.

I would not keep trying to determine the level
of security it has as it does have baterry
and temp sensors, and you may not be able to reset
it at will.

Rocking and hitting is not going to work on a
factory alarm. So stop doing that. :>)

Is there a siren? If so, that's after market. If not,
likely as not, it's the break in alarm that comes from
the factory.

It also has a transponder in the ignition key and
would shut down an intruder if not using the correct key.

So that's what I know about this vehicle even before
we get into after market devices.

That's another can of worms entirely.
