Car Alarms: ignition chip, car mechanic, ford windstar

How do you override the ignition chip in a 2000 Ford Windstar, I misplaced my key and can't afford to have my vehicle towed and a new key made. I do have a spare that fits and will do everything but start the engine. Thank you.

Sorry Ms. H, but without the key, you will need to
save up some money to get that done regardless of
which way you go. The Key is the cheapest of all options.

Replacing parts will NOT solve this and
since the transponder (PATS) is in fine working shape,
the only real course of action (by design at Ford by the way)
is to replace the code key using the dealership reader/writer.

Not something a car mechanic is likely to have.
This is a Ford proprietary
dealership tool unfortunately. In house only.
