Car Alarms: car alarm, clifford matrix, gmail

I have a clifford MATRIX 50.5X alarm system.  When I hit the arm button the lights flash and the door locks but it doesn`t chirp.  When I try to open the door when it is armed nothing happens.  The car doesn`t respond to it.  I held the panic button and it works and the alarm goes off.  What could the issue be
