Car Alarms: Car Alarm going off, 2003 hyundai sonata, valet mode

Question
QUESTION: 2003 Hyundai Sonata 4 dr. Car alarm goes off, usually at night, for no reason. All doors re locked and windows are rolled up. Any ideas? If it keeps happening, any way to disconnect?

ANSWER: Please be more descriptive if possible.

"GOING OFF?"

I need to determine whether it's a factory alarm
issue or, if it's an aftermarket system you are
dealing with.

Is it: Headlights flashing, car horn honking
and a worded SECURITY" light in the dash flashing?
(doubtfull since none of the notes show this
car as having a factory alarm system)=FACTORY

Or,

is it: flashing parking lights,
an LED in the dash area, and a siren
going off?= AFTER MARKET

Let me know more on this to better
advise you on a course of action
to take.

QUESTION: It is flashing parking lights and some sort of siren type sound. I don't what shows in the dash area. I've not had a problem since I changed the battery in the key fob. It only worked when I was within a foot of the door of the car. Now it works within about 20 feet (closer to 40 feet on the second key fob). Just bought the car a week ago. Hopefully the problem doesn't return.

Answer
Right,
Ok, try this.
Put the key in the ignition, and turn forward
all the way just before cranking. Then within
5 seconds, press and hold in the valet/overide
button, found under the dash area, usually to the left
of the leg, drilled into a plactic panel,
until the installed LED (the blinking light)
in your dash area goes off, and the siren chirps twice.
(Your valet switch might be the toggle (on/off) type.
in this case, key on, flip switch in oposite direction,
key off.)

This should reset the alarm.

Just Repeat these steps to place it
back to valet mode.

That should do it.

Good hunting.
