Car Alarms: Sentry SKIM bypass, dodge grand caravan, immobilizer bypass

Question
Hey ALARMTEK!!

I have a 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan. I am trying to install a Micro remote starter I ordered from your site..Any whoo, I bought the van used about a year ago, so not too sure of the history. Seems that they had the SKIM module in the steering column bypassed(disconnected), because the keys I received with the van are generic copies with no chip inside(black plastic coated)..When taking the steering column apart I though I had accidentaly pulled out the wire for the SKIM(before I knew about all this!!). So me like an idiot, reconnected the wire..

Now the van will not start no matter what I do. (ie. neg and pos battery disconnect for hours, and IOD fuse disconnect). The red light for the alarm immobilizer stays on constantly.

My question is can I use an immobilizer bypass if I never had the original key set with the transponder?? Only other option seems to be having the dealership reprogram the PCM with the SKIM disconnected so it doesn't see it(not sure if they can even do this??). Or buy a whole new PCM!!

Answer
Unfortunately, it must be repaired and running
before the module can be used. It must have been awhile since you ordered this from me. I don't remember a Tom in any recent orders.

In any event, repair must be done to the vehicle to bring
it back online prior to any installing now.

Good luck.
