Lately we have been having problems with 'ghost' alarms, especially when you arm (double click the fob) the alarm.  It  occurs randomly and sometime the headlights 'flicker' with a clicking sound on the dashboard.  Also it has occurred as we were driving the vehicle, with the horn beeping.
We have tried the spare fob with no resolution.

Never saw one you would "double click" to arm.
And I will assume you've changed the remote control's
batter, right?

If all that was done, and you are having intermitent issues
with the alarm, it would not hurt to go to
a local Pontiac dealer to talk to a service
agent, maybe get a fresh set of remotes, or
at least and explainanation of what's happening
with the OEM system.

Best advice really. It's they're product.
