Car Alarms: Viper 350HV on 95 Integra LS, keyless entry systems, rear hatch

Question
I bought a Viper 350HV and had it installed by the retailer.  Upon completion,
the only thing that doesn't trigger the alarm is the rear hatch.  According to the
installer, my hatch triggers the interior light but doesn't trigger alarm.  Is this
normal, is there a fix or something amiss.  My hatch does not have a truck light
to indicate it is open.  Is this the problem.  Thanks.
