Car Alarms: Checkmate Alarm, hyundai elantra, resident technicians

Question
I have a Checkmate alarm system in my 2001 Hyundai Elantra. The system
will not let me use my key to open my car doors, I need to hit the unlock
button on the remote. Except now the remote is not unlocking the car for
some reason. I just replaced the battery in the remote so I do not think it has
to do with the remote. I cannot start my vehicle now because if I unlock the
doors with my key, the parking lights flash and the siren goes off. The only
way to stop this is to wait, or to disconnect the battery, since the remote is
not working. How do I fix this problem now that my car is useless because of
this alarm system?

Answer
That's hard to say what the problem could
be without first hand inspection. If you
would, restate this question in my installers
forum at www.installsupport.com and see if
my resident technicians there can assist
with this project.

More eyes on this may shake
an idea loose.

They can go into a more detailed assistance
you might need on this project.

Good luck there.
