Car Alarms: 2000 Grand Prix Remote Start Problems, transponder immobilizer, passlock 2

Question
Hi there,  Ok i'm officailly not a fan of Passkey 3.  I could really use some help here.  I recently wired in an Ultrastart 2280XR Pro remote start kit in my 2000 Grand Prix GT.  I also bought the 555G bypass module to bypass Passkey 3.  The problem that i'm having is that it doesn't remote start all of the time.  If a door is open on the car or the trunk is open the vehicle will remote start, but if you walk away from the car and wait about a minute and then try to remote start the car it will not go.  The unlock and lock features will work but no remote start.  It doesn't even acknowledge it.  But however if you press the unlock button on the factory keyfob for the car and then press remote start on the remote start fob the car will start every time.  Its like the ingnition wire is in sleep mode, and untill you wake it up by either unlocking a door or opening the trunk then it will not remote start.
I thought this 555G bypass module would fix this problem since it taps into the fuel enable wires and such, but it didn't.  Its got me completely baffled and needing help.  i've installed these systems on some fords that i have and had no problem, just seems to be a passkey 3 issue.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!  Thanks!

Answer
Does not sound like the 555g module on this vehicle
is the trouble here. It does sound more like either
a missed or, mis connected, wire.

Are there 2 ignition wires being used for the remote starter?
Did you go into Tach mode? And if so, did you go through
the installation protocol for it?

I would re check these facets first, then if all checks out,
re install the 555G or replace it with the:

GMBP - GM Passkey 3 & Passlock 2 Data Override
Data Bus Interface: Data override of GM Passkey 3 Transponder Immobilizer & GM Passlock 2 Immobilizer via class 2 data bus. No Key Required. The GMBP is a "3 in 1" bypass solution which is compatible with the 1st generation GM Passkey used on the '99 Transport, Venture & Silhouette, Grand Prix, and the more common 2nd gen. Passkey 3 as well as the Passlock II resistor code immobilizer.

This is a better system.

Good luck with the project.
