Car Alarms: New Toyota Highlander AfterMarket Alarm., toyota highlander, resident technicians

Question
I recently purchased a new Toyota Highlander and had dealer install an alarm system/engine immobilizer.
Problem: When I deactivate the alarm with my keyless entry on my keychain, and get into the car, if I don't start the car within a short period of time, the alarm will automatically activate. Then if I turn the ignition key, the alarm will sound and the key will not turn the alarm off, or allow the engine to start (due to the immobilizer).
In fact, the alarm will not shut off until the key is removed from the ignition and the keyless entry button on my keychain is pressed!
Question: Is it possible to:
A. Have the alarm adjusted so that it will not automatically reactivate within a certain period of time after I enter the car?
B. Can the alarm be adjusted so that it recognizes the key(with the chip!) in the ignition to turn off the alarm sounding?  I can see the day coming down the line with the battery in the keychain remote dead, and the alarm sounding with me not being able to turn it off!

Answer
That's hard to say what the problem could
be without first hand inspection. If you
would, restate this question in my installers
forum at www.installsupport.com and see if
my resident technicians there can assist
with this project.

More eyes on this may shake
an idea loose.

They can go into a more detailed assistance
you might need on this project.

Good luck there.
