Car Alarms: cobra alarm problems, cobra alarm, resident technicians

Question
Hi, I have a 1996 mitsubushi Gto that has what i think is an aftermarket cobra alarm. I parked the car about 2 months ago and obviously the battery went flat. When i pressed the remote which also operates the central locking nothing happened as the car battery was flat, so i went to put the key in the door and discovered the car key won't open either door, however it did open the boot so i could get in. I then fitted a new battery and as soon as i connected it the alarm went off and wouldn't respond to the remote which has two buttons on it, i tried putting the key in the ignition whilst the alarm was going off and pressing the remote button but the alarm kept going off, the only way to stop it is to close all the doors and wait 10 seconds or disconnecting the battery negative stops it straight away. The red indicator the show the alarm is active flashes as normal and when you press and hold the remote button that light stops flashing. I have tried pressing the remote button a few times but nothing, have you got ay suggestions of how i can reset it. Thanks karl

Answer
That's hard to say what the problem could
be without first hand inspection. If you
would, restate this question in my installers
forum at www.installsupport.com and see if
my resident technicians there can assist
with this project. More eyes on this may shake
an idea loose.

They can go into a more detailed assistance
you might need on this project.

Good luck there.
