Car Alarms: Car Alarm, fender bender, siren sound

Question
I was in a fender bender about a year ago (I rear ended another car). The damage to my front end was fairly minimal, but ever since then my car alarm has been going off randomly. If I keep the car unlocked, the alarm doesn't go off, but lately the car seems to be locking itself and then the alarm sounds sporadically until I go and unlock it. When the alarm sounds, it is a siren sound, not the car horn, and the turn signals blink (but not the headlights). Is there a way for me to just disable the alarm? Or do you have any other ideas?

Answer
Understood. Let's try to put it into valet/service mode,
and try to reset the alarm to disarm and stay that way.
First, turn on the ignition
key, then press and hold in the button (little
spring loaded micro button, red or black possibly)
until the alarm chirps 1 time. This should over ride
the system, and only the keyless entry part,
if installed, would still be operating
(90% of after market alarms will disarm this way).
The LED (light emiting diode) light in the dash
should also go on solid.

At this point. the alarm would have reset.
If it had a starter kill relay installed,
the relay would now be opened, and the engine
would turn over when tried.

It will then stay disarmed until the steps
are repeated, to go back to user mode if desired.

Let me know if it works for yours.
