Car Alarms: Car Alarm keeps resetting after new battery installed, way key, chirp

Question
I recently installed a new battery on my 98 civic.  When you get in all the lights start blinking.  I turn the key on and reset the button underneath(valet) and it resets and the car starts.  However, the next time I get out it does it again.  And the only thing that fixes it is to unhook my battery and do the whole process over again.  Anyway to take care of this problem for good without having to unhook battery everytime i drive?

Answer
It's after market, and may need a bit of
procedure change on your part
to keep it disabled.

Try this way...

KEY ON, PRESS AND HOLD THAT BUTTON UNTIL
THE LED LIGHT IN THE DASH GOES ON SOLID, (6 to 8 secs.)
AND MAYBE A CHIRP FROM THE SIREN.
THEN KEY OFF.

This should keep it over ridden until
you replace/ remove & repair it, or get
new transmitters to control it.

That should solve it for you.
