Car Alarms: vw passat estate 1.9tdi 2003, vw passat, internal monitoring

Car parked on drive for nearly 4 days unused. This 7a.m. alarm goes off. no matter what i do it continues to go off. I've been in the car and switched the internal monitoring system off but it still goes off. presume then it must be anti-theft going off. Won't stop. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
