Car Alarms: Remote Start, ford probe, remote start

I have a 93' ford probe right now, but plan be to getting a new car within a year. I was a remote start for this winter, but don't want to spend alot of money on it, if i can't switch it to my new car. So is it possible to change it to my new car? and if so which kind should i get, there are so many!
