Car Alarms: Audiovox vs. Pursuit?, car alarm systems, fcc id

Question
I broke my remote for my car alarm. I had a FCC ID: Elvatoe, PROOE4BS remote which I determined was made by audiovox by calling the 800 number. I need a replacement remote and I was wondering if any other remotes worked for my system? Audiovox said $50 +shipping and handling. There is one by Pursuit with the same ID numbers but I don't want to buy it if it doesn't work.

Also, would I need anything different to program it?
