QuestionQUESTION: I bought a 2002 Nissan Sentra with a Marksman car alarm installed. The car didn't come with a user's manual for the alarm.
The Problem is a guy at the garage disabled the alarm (the red led is on solid whenever the car is off). I'd like to turn it back on!
I don't know what's the model of the system but there's no valet switch and the remote is square.

ANSWER: Should be no problem really.
Ok, try this.
Put the key in the ignition, and turn forward
all the way just before cranking. Then within
5 seconds, press and hold in the valet/overide
button, found under the dash area, usually to the
left of the leg drilled into a hidden away spot,
until the installed LED (the blinking light)
in your dash area goes off, and the siren chirps twice.
(Your valet switch might be the toggle (on/off) type.
in this case, key on, flip switch in oposite direction,
key off.)
This should reset the alarm.
Just Repeat these steps to place it
back to valet mode.
That should do it.

QUESTION: As I said, there is NO VALET SWITCH! My remote only has three buttons "Lock", "Unlock" and "*". I'm not sure if this mode is called "Valet Mode", "Silent Mode" or "Alarm Override" but the red LED inside the car is on solid and I can't activate my alarm. How can I turn it back on?
AnswerWell, Marksman alarms do include them in the box.
And if the installers was imaginative, it can
be almost anywhere. Under the dash, in a side
panel or, attached to the fuse box area etc...
Sometimes a toggle (on/off) type and sometimes
a spring loaded button. If not installed
The only way around this is to either aquire one,
or extract the brain box, unplug the main harness,
and start removal/repairing the wiring.
