Car Alarms: Jeep 1996 Cherokee, car repair shop, car immobilizer

Question
I have an Australian built 96 Grand Cherokee and have read the other articles about disarming the factory immobilizer.
I have followed the instructions and grounded the purple/yellow wire from the drivers door loom.
Sadly this was not successful and the car immobilizer still operates, please advise if you can.

Anyway Does your JEEP GC door lock interface replace the door controls or is it a addon to the existing system.

Answer
Hmmm, ok Max, last one first.
It's an add on module designed to interface
an after market keyless entry through the databus.
So, no. this does not replace the OEM controls.
Try a junk yard for that.

Cheaper then the dealership parts dept.

On the "immobilizer". The wire you approached is
probably right for the OEM/FACTORY noise generating,
head light flashing deterent system. The immobilizer
(starter/fuel cut off/disable system),
however is not something that we can bypass if engaged.

This has to see a code reader/writer from Jeep or
an advanced car repair shop to reset it I am afraid.

I hope I did not rain too hard on your parade here.
