Car Alarms: Factory alarm thinks 03 Trailblazer has been stolen and now car wont start, mobile mechanic, passlock system

Question
We have an 03 Trailblazer, yesterday, it locked down completely, no power to anything and key was stuck in the ignition.  We jumped it, but it only got about 5 miles before shutting down again.  We replaced the battery, now it still won't start.  Had a mobile mechanic look at it today and thinks it is the factory alarm telling the computer the truck has been stolen.  He thinks we will have to replace the ignition switch and starter relay switch to get it to run again.  Is there any other way to let the car know it HASN'T been stolen???  I hate that I have to pay for this when it seems like there should be a way to reset the alarm.  Any suggestions?  There is no after-market alarm.  Thanks!

Answer
Sorry, but the mechanic is correct. GM will need to
reset the PASSLOCK. You can attempt to rest it
by putting the ignition key in, turn on, then
leave it be for 10-12 minutes. The PASSLOCK system
MAY reset and relearn at this point.
No guaranty that will work though. And even if
it does, it's a temp fix. GM still will need to
reset it to recognize the proper key.

However, once reset, I STRONGLY suggest
you byass it for good so it does not happen again.
When ready for that, see the PLJX bypass kit

Sorry Yell at GM.
I just report the news (good and bad) here :>(
