Car Alarms: please help!, jeep grand cherokee laredo, jeep grand cherokee

Question
QUESTION: Hi!...I'm glad your here!..you have been the best guy on the internet for Security tech without a doubt...One question..I found the purple and yellow wire on my 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo and i grounded it like you instructed. but i have one confusing... do i splice into it or, do i cut the wire in two pieces and if so which wire end do i spice it to? the one at the black connector? or, the one leading to the dash?...Thanks so much your the best!

ANSWER: Thanks for the cudo's Mr. C. :>)

No cutting for this sort of thing. We want the
wire to be intact, save for the striping off of
some of the colored covering off of the outside, say
about 1/4 inch worth, exposing the copper.
Then wrapping another wire of the same gauge to it,
and putting the free end to a solid chassis ground.

Just to be safe and tidy, please put a piece
of black electrical tape over the splice
and that's that.

Enjoy!

QUESTION: Hi!..Thanks for getting back so quick!...One more question i did everything as instructed and the security light is still coming on and its shut down the fuel pump Help!...Thank you!

Answer
There is nothing else. My expertise is in alarm installing
and bypassing factroy alarms for that purpose is part of it.

Beyond that it might be another issue I am unaware of.

If it's after market, (siren and parking lights flash)
it would be a different fix. You've said it's not.
I would try to tow it to a local car alarm shop for evaluation.

Wish I had more on it.
