Car Alarms: 98 Ford Escort Passive Car alarm wont stop going off, alarmtek, dash area

I have a 98 Escort SE, and the passive car alarm continues to go off, about 5-10 times a day, and needless to day neighbors are getting upset.  I checked the hood switch, it was ok, but disconnected it.  I know the module is in the rear of the car under the covering, but need to know if there is a way of disabling the module itself.  The car isn't worth stealing, and I just want to disable the alarm.

Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated!!!

My local dealer wants 250 dollars for electrical diagnostic and the car is only worth about 550.

Something is puzzling me here.

Please be more descriptive if possible.

"GOING OFF?"

I need to determine whether it's a factory alarm
issue or, if it's an aftermarket system you are
dealing with.

Is it: Headlights flashing, car horn honking
and a worded SECURITY" light in the dash flashing?
(doubtfull since none of the notes show this
car as having a factory alarm system)=FACTORY

Or,

is it: flashing parking lights,
an LED in the dash area, and a siren
going off?= AFTER MARKET

Let me know more on this to better
advise you on a course of action
to take.
