Car Alarms: can not open car, keyless entry systems, honda element

Question
Went to unlock my Honda  Element with my Python keyless remote and all I got
was a steady flashing green light and no sound, and no car doors unlocking...is
this possibly a dead battery? Can I unlock it manually? If it is battery, will it go
off when battery is charged?
