Car Alarms: 95 cadillac deville alarm going crazy, dash area, button spring

Question
The alarm on my deville is going off at random times. I believe it is a factory alarm. When I unlock the car with the remote and start the car, it goes off. I hear clicking underneath the dash while I drive. Also, the parking lights go off while the clicking his happening. It almost seems like the alarm is trying to go off when I drive, but I don't hear any alarm sirens. Although I did notice when I accelerate the clicking is more frequent. And usually when I park and leave the car, the alarm siren goes off. The car remote works only half the time. I'm not exactly sure what I should do. Is it shorting out somewhere?

Answer
Ok, describe to me what is going off when you open the
door. Is it a 6 tone siren or the car horn blarring?
Headlights or parking lights flashing?

If it's the latter, the factory alarm arms and disarms
when you lock and unlock the doors (with a key or
by remote). If malfuntioning, you would need to do some
dealership inspecting, and possibly replacement of
either the door mechanism, or the security module.
There is no simple fix you can do.

If aftermarket, put the key in the ignition,
and turn forward all the way just before cranking.
Then within 5 seconds, locate, press and hold in
the valet/overide button, found under the
dash area, (push button, spring loaded)
until the installed LED (the blinking light)
in your dash area goes on solid,
and the siren chirps once.

(Your valet switch might be the toggle
(on/off) type. in this case, key on,
flip switch in opposite direction,
then turn the key off.)

This should reset the alarm.

At this point, the only thing working would
be the keyless entry from the alarm,
if it came equipped that way.
Then take it for an inspection of the system.

Just Repeat these steps to place it
back to usable armed mode.
You may get 2 chirps, confirming it,
and the lights may flash twice as well.

That should do it.

Let me know what you find.
