Car Alarms: 92 acura legend, alarmtek, acura legend

Hello my name is Rick, I bought a used 92 legend about 9 months ago to drive around in.  I received one regular key with the car.  The problem is everytime I lock the car the factory alarm goes off, and when I unlock the car it turns off.  I've tried to break off that lever for the hood sensor to try to trick the car into thinking the hood is open so it won't arm, but break that did not do anything for me because the alarm still arms.  Can you suggest anything I can try? I haven't been able to lock my car in 9 months because I don't want to annoy anyone around me with the horn going off and headlights flashing. Please help.

I need to determine whether it's a factory alarm
issue or, if it's an aftermarket system you are
dealing with.

Is it: Headlights flashing, car horn honking
and a worded SECURITY or, ANTI-THEFT" light
in the dash flashing?
(doubtfull since none of the notes show this
car as having a factory alarm system)=FACTORY

Or,

is it: flashing parking lights,
an LED in the dash area, and a siren
going off?= AFTER MARKET

Let me know more on this to better
advise you on a course of action
to take.
