Car Alarms: UltraGuard Security System, place directions, ultraguard

Question
'98 Ford Escort, battery dead, alarm went off trying to start, battery dead. Alarm unit not been used in many years, can't find the keychain transmitter, been lost a long time. Will getting a new battery take care of this? I'm an older woman and alone. No one I know knows what to do and frankly I am terrified about being #$%^$@# by another auto repair place! Please help if you can or if you can refer me some place.Directions for the alarm don't make sense to me.Switched the Valet switch to off position.

Answer
Ok, try this. Get the new battery.
They once powered up, key in the ignition, turn on
just before starting, flip the switch, then key off.
That's valet/over ride.

The alarm SHOULD reset at that point.
But it's only reacting to the bad battery.

Leave it like this
if not using the alarm any longer.

Go ahead and try it.
Fastest and cheapest way
to solve this for you I think.
