Car Alarms: Honda Pilot 05, resident technicians, honda pilot

I purchased this car; the Checkmate alarm arms itself after 15 seconds. It does not matter if the door is open or closed, locked or unlocked. Is there a way to change this setting back to alarm only when doors are locked by user as stated in the Honda manual?
