Car Alarms: Autopage RS-727 Alarm, 2004 dodge durango, autopage alarm

Question
I went with a local company where I live to install this alarm on my 2004 Dodge Durango that already had a factory alarm. The factory alarm worked fine for me but I wanted the added protection of the autopage alarm's remote that could tell me if something was happening to my vehicle.  Anyway the alarm works fine, but after I picked it up after being installed I decided to test it out. I had someone sit inside while I armed it and when they opened the door and got out the alarm didn't go off at all. I tried it again and again and it won't go off. I called the company and he said that I must have somehow hit my factory alarm remote and messed up the programming. I really don't buy it, so could you give me your thoughts on this? I'm thinking that he didn't hook up wires or something to my doors. Everything else works fine, the shock sensors work because if you hit the truck the alarm goes off.

Answer
On this one, the best thing here is
to go to my installers forum at
www.installsupport.com and see if
my resident technicians there can assist
with this project.

I unfortunately don't know the
system you are working with to advise
you properly on it's functions,
features, or trouble shooting
information. Better to check with a tech
that might.

Good luck there.
