Car Alarms: 2000 dogde caravan alarm, dogde caravan, dodge service

Question
QUESTION: I have recently had someone steal gas from my van.  I would like to know what would make my alarm go off, and if there is a way to get it to be a little more touchy.  I can try to make it go off and it won't, but if I dont want it to it will.  Can you help?  Please?   Thank you

ANSWER: Please be more descriptive if possible.

"GOING OFF?"

I need to determine whether it's a factory alarm
issue or, if it's an aftermarket system you are
dealing with.

Is it: Headlights flashing, car horn honking
and a worded SECURITY" light in the dash flashing?
(doubtfull since none of the notes show this
car as having a factory alarm system)=FACTORY

Or,

is it: flashing parking lights,
an LED in the dash area, and a siren
going off?= AFTER MARKET

Let me know more on this to better
advise you on a course of action
to take.

QUESTION: It's factory alarm.

Answer
Bad news then. It's not something that has a simpl\
fix unfortunately.

I strongly suggest you take it to Dodge for
reset. To do this permanantly will require a technician,
relays, resistors and about an hour of labor.
This would be a pricey solution.

I'd have Dodge service simply reset it and teach you a bit
more on how to help yourself when you have problems with it.
