I have the correct wires connected to the door lock wires but when i hit the lock or unlock buttons on the remote for the security system it doesn't so anything.... i checked to make sure the crime guard 350i5 security system/remote door locks was putting out a Neg signal and they are. any help on what i need to do or check?

Answer
I believe you are mistaken.
The notes say (+) 3 wire Positive door locks.
The piece you have there may be able to invert
to positive door locks, the systems I sell
have that capability by switching the 2 output wires
to accomodate. Some have dip switches, some
blade type bridges.

But if not, then see www.RELAYHELP.com
at the 3 Wire Positive door lock system.

Simple test.

Take a sharp tipped test light. The 4 buck kind with the
aligator clip. Take the clip and put it to a solid ground.

Then probe the door lock wire. If they are negative
type locks, the lock would then throw into lock position,
and probe the unlock, and it would unlock when the ground is
received.=3 wire negative locks. A direct tap from most
alarms is fine.

If Positives, when probed, the wires would show nothing,
then 12 volts when the switched is used.

If 5 wire reverse, tests at first like
positive, but if not working right, would
usually denote 5 wire set up.

The easiest way to disern that is to cut the
door lock wire. If if were a positive door lock system
the lock would stop working, but unlock would be ok.
If both lock and unlock are disabled, it's 5 wire reverse.

Let me know what you discover. And if looking
for the wiring chart, you can get it at

I hope this helps to sort it out.
