Car Alarms: 2004 4Runner Factory Alarm Issue, 2004 toyota 4runner, toyota 4runner

Question
For the last few days, mostly at night the alarm sets itself off and goes for varied lengths of time.  I took it to the dealer, they tested the battery and it was almost dead. They said this could cause the issue so I replaced it. Later that night same thing. I replaced and later removed the batteries from the keychain remotes with no luck as well.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Answer
Check all interior lights to be certain they
all go out, but it sounds like your issue is
power drain related. Could be the charging system,
could be the factory alarm as well.

There is a wire you can ground out in this
truck to disable the OEM system, but we do not
share that info here for owner security reasons.

If you wish to try that, go to
www.wirewerx.com for details on getting it.
There you will log your info so there is a paper
trail I can provide to the authorites,
if the truck is not yours.

Check all the power distribution aves. in this
truck before going to disable it for good.
