Car Alarms: 2003 Ford F-150, car alarm systems, ford f 150

Question
My girlfriend and I had the same truck (2003 Ford F-150) and just sold one.  She bought the truck used and only received one remote.  I still have a remote from the one that we sold.  Can I reprogram it or do I need to buy another one.  I'm sure an extra key is going to be expensive enough so I would like to save some money by not buying the second remote.
