Car Alarms: 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee, jeep grand cherokee, jeep grand cherokee laredo

Question
I drive a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo with a factory alarm. So i disconnected my battery to install a performance chip onto my air temperature sensor or whatever and when i hooked the battery back up the alarm is going off. the only keyhole is the drivers door and there is a pushable flashing light button in the dash. i have tryed turning the key left right while going off and nothing works. any ideas.i cant get it to turn over now.

Answer
Bad news I am afraid.
When powered down, the Chrysler "smart key" immobilizer
was reset. I would have to direct you at this point
to Jeep for a diagnostic/reset appointment.

I don't know of any other way to re initialize the
immobilizer other than that.

Sorry.
