Car Alarms: 93 Nissan Sentra alarm, nissan sentra, passenger doors

Question
My 93 Sentra has been sitting in storage for the last couple years, before going into storage it worked fine with no problems. Recently I charged the battery, and the alarm started going off. I've tried unlocking the driver's side and passenger doors, putting the key in the ignition/starting the car, nothing seems to disable it. The only way to get it to stop is by disconnecting the battery. There's a seperate power plug for the siren that connects to the battery(on the end of the positive cable) but unplugging that also keeps the car from starting.

At one point the alarm turned off. I bought a new battery, and after installing it, the alarm didn't go off, and I was actually able to drive the car around. The next time I went out to the car and unlocked the passenger door, the alarm went crazy again, and I have no idea how to replicate the fix. Since I can't get the alarm to quit, I can't even drive it to a alarm shop/service center, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Answer
Alrighty,
You'll need to set off the alarm for a few seconds.
Then, look under the dash area for a button or, a toggle
switch. When you locate it, turn on the ignition
key, press and hold in the button (little
spring loaded micro button, red or black possibly)
until the alarm chirps 1 time. This should over ride
the system, and only the keyless entry part,
if installed, would still be operating.
The LED (light emiting diode) light in the dash
should also go on solid.

At this point. the alarm would have reset.
If this had a starter kill relay installed,
it would now be opened, and the engine would
turn over when tried. This is override/reset.

You would repeat these steps to go back to
user mode but in your case, I'd leave it this
way until you can either get replacement
remotes (unlikely), or, replace the alarm with one
you know and understand how it operates for
the best overall experience (suggested!).

Let me know what you discover
& if you want to upgrade to a
better system.
