Car Alarms: programing remote, alarmtek, programming issues

Ok so I bought a keyless remote for a ford.I have a 1997 expedition with an alarm that was put @ the dealer.Alarm is made by karr Ive tried to program the new remote and its not working cant get the alarm to go into the programing mode hope someone can help me thanks
