Car Alarms: alarm sensitivity, grand prix gtp, pontiac grand prix gtp

Question
QUESTION: I have a 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP. Can you tell me how to increase the sensitivity of the alarm.

ANSWER: I need to determine whether it's a factory alarm
issue or, if it's an aftermarket system you are
dealing with.

Is it: Headlights flashing, car horn honking
and a worded SECURITY" light in the dash flashing?
(doubtfull since none of the notes show this
car as having a factory alarm system)=FACTORY

Or,

is it: flashing parking lights,
an LED in the dash area, and a siren
going off?= AFTER MARKET

Let me know more on this to better
advise you on a course of action
to take.

QUESTION: Its a factory alarm system. I'm not having a problem, I just want to know where and how to increase the sensitivity of the alarm.

Answer
Then that's not a possibility. The OEM systems don't have any
way to "tweek" they're sensors up or down.

Sorry. If it had a siren and flashed the parking lights,
then I'd direct you to the shock sensor. Factory alarms
do not include these as part of they're programing.
So you are stuck with the original settings.

Wish I had more for you.
