Car Alarms: Car wont start unless unlock button is pushed, car alarm installer, dodge dakota

Question
I just got an '04 Dodge Dakota. It appears to have a starter kill feature that uses the Dodge key fobs. The ignition will not start unless you push the unlock button on the key fob after you get in the truck, even if you already pushed the unlock button to open the doors. Under the driver side dash is a red LED that has a small opening above the LED that looks like a round key or rod fits into it. There are also a few cut wires hanging down. I am worried that if the battery in the key fob dies, I will be stranded. How to I disable or over-ride this?

Answer
If you see wires hanging down, this is bad.
And if unchecked, could/will cause damage if
any mis connected wires touch any metal and
are hot.

Best suggestion here is to get the truck
to a local car alarm installer A.S.A.P. and have it
inspected and repaired.

This can be a bigger
problem if you ignore this issue.
Imagine shorting out the entire dash
cluster..... :>(

Get it checked please.
