Car Alarms: code alarm dm1500, valet mode, dash area

Question
QUESTION: I put a new battery in my 2001 Ford F150. When I went to start the engine it would not crank. I noticed that when I pressed the unlock button on the remote the alarm did not chirp. From what I can tell the alarm is stuck in the valet mode. The red led is blinks twice rapidly and then off for a second. When I push the led in the light goes completely off. Either way, when I lock the vehicle using the remote I do net hear the chirp and I can open the door using the key and start the vehicle. The alarm is not working. Please help!!!

ANSWER: Should be no problem really.
It appears from your expaination, that the
car alarm is in service mode.

Ok, try this.
Put the key in the ignition, and turn forward
all the way just before cranking. Then within
5 seconds, press and hold in the valet/overide
button, until the installed LED (the blinking light)
in your dash area goes off, and the siren chirps twice.
(Your valet switch might be the toggle (on/off) type.
in this case, key on, flip switch in oposite direction,
key off.)

This should reset the alarm.

Just Repeat these steps to place it
back to valet mode.

That should do it.
Let me know what happens.

QUESTION: Thanks for your quick response. Here's what happened.

When I locked the truck 45 minutes ago using the remote the red led was blinking rapidly two times before a pause. I read you email and went to the truck and noticed the red led was blinking slowly. When I pressed the unlock button it remained in the blinking slowly mode and the truck would not start. I then performed the procedure you mentioned. Turned key to the on position, then pressed the override button. The led light turned off and the truck started. I then pressed the led button again and it went back to the rapid blink mode.

So, I am back where I started. Red led is blinking rapidity two times then a brief pause. If I press the led the light goes completely off. During this process I have not heard a chirp. I agree. The systems is stuck in some kind of service mode. Seems like after it sits 45-60 minutes it will shuts down the starter but the chirp or any other alarm features do not work when the door is opened before pressing the unlock button. Let me know what's next and thanks for your help as this is frustrating.

Answer
Wish I had something else to offer here,
but you will probably need to remove the alarm
and repair. I can't be yhere to inspect, but
you may have a fried system brain there.

I'd start by unplugging the brain box for
minute, then replug to see if it resets.
If no joy, then it's on to repair/removal
& replacement.
