Car Alarms: Car stopped chirping, intermittent problem, beep

Question
My car has an intermittent problem with the remote. When I got my 2001 Corolla S the remote beep worked fine, then the chirping stopped, then it worked, it has cycled this pattern a few times over the past year that I've had it. Do you believe this might be a Fuse problem, or something else? The lights still flash when the car locks/unlocks, and the locks themselves still lock. Thanks in advance!!

Let's do the obvious things here first.
Change out the battery on the remote to start with.

Then I'd have the alarm inspected for any power issues.

Hard to actually say what is the trouble without
hands on evaluation, but that's where I'd
start.
