Car Alarms: Re activating factory alarm, alarm security system, original equipment manufacturer

Question
QUESTION: I some how hit the panic button and in trying to turn off the panic alarm I de activated the factory alarm.  The alarm will not set when locking the car and when locked it will not unlock the passenger door by turning the key clockwise two times.

The car is a 1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Keith

ANSWER: It appears from your expaination, that the
car alarm is in service mode.

Ok, try this.
Put the key in the ignition, and turn forward
all the way just before cranking. Then within
5 seconds, press and hold in the valet/overide
button, found under the dash area, usually to the
left of the leg drilled into a hidden away spot,
until the installed LED (the blinking light)
in your dash area goes off, and the siren chirps twice.
(Your valet switch might be the toggle (on/off) type.
in this case, key on, flip switch in oposite direction,
key off.)

This should reset the alarm.

Just Repeat these steps to place it
back to valet mode.

That should do it.
Let me know what happens.

QUESTION: I have looked everywhere for the valet-override switch and cannot find one.  I believe I deactivated the alarm system by turning the key in the drivers door to the left and then quickly to the right with the panic alarm sounding.  The alarm made a stop just for a second and then continued.

I have disconnected the battery to reset the system and when I first try to set the alarm the security (green) light comes on but the alarm does not set and after opening the door and trying again the light does not come back on.

Thanks
Keith

Answer
That's a bit of a problem here.
Because yours is a "FACTORY" or, OEM
(original Equipment Manufacturer) "alarm/security" system,
then the disabling procedure info for any given
specific vehicle is now deamed to be too sensitive to
publish here (as suggested by ALLEXPERTS administration.!).

So, to comply, as of March,22 08, this service is no longer
part of the volunteer information I can offer for free here at
ALLEXPERTS.com . Specific OEM/FACTORY alarm disarm/disabling
info is now available ONLY at the WIREWERX.

My installation wiring charts provide the proper wire colors,
polarities, and locations to install a keyless entry,
remote start or, car alarm system into any given vehicle,
or if just trying to disarm/disable your factory/OEM system,
there is a link there to get a tutourial on how to do it yourself
for only $2.99.

I hope you can appreciate the legal reasons behind not
providing this info any longer to just anyone who asks
for general consumption. By doing it this way, I'll
get a record of payment and a name/email address as
a stop gap to help prevent any unauthorized disabling of
your system or anyone elses, by a would be car thief!

Please go to the WIREWERX so I can get you the
info you require to fix your situation.

Good luck with this issue.
