Car Alarms: ford windstar alarm, ford windstar, self tapping screw

Question
I have same problem as past reader whose Windstar alarm goes off by itself.  I have '98 Ford Windstar.  I read your solution - take off kicker panel to access alarm wire, splice into it, and hook it to a chassis ground spot. OK, but I'm not familiar enough with vehicle terms to proceed.  1- Where is the "kicker panel" that the alarm wire is in?  Is it easy enough to access?    2- What is the nearest or easiest spot to find and hook into a chassis ground spot?

Answer
It's clipped into place. The plastic covering between
your left foot/leg area can be pulled away from the frame,
exposing the wire packs. The one going from the cab
out to the drivers door will carry this wire.

Then locate a point there in the same area on the
frame (if paint covered, scrape off a small area)
and then put the wire to that point with an eyelet
and a 1/4 in. self tapping screw if available.
This will bypass the alarm.

That'll do it.
