Car Alarms: Dead car alarm, amp fuse, fuse box

Question
Hello, I have a Lotus Esprit SE 1991 with an aftermarket Cobra 7195 cat 1. I
was replacing the LED anti-theft light with a new one when the bare red, live
wire accidentally touched a metal frame in the dash, causing a spark. After
the new light was in place I tested the alarm by pushing the FOB key - but
nothing happened. I tried the ignition, starter turned but engine did not fire -
so I am immobilized. The alarm is in short dead and I can not start. Door
locks only work manually by key. I have checked the system from the under-
bonnet siren to under the dash, access to this area however is terrible. Can
not find any control box or local fuse. All fuses in the fuse box are intact. Any
advice?

Help appreciated!

Answer
Check all the MASTER fuses for the car. It seems you
may have fried a 30/40 amp fuse controling the
starter and affecting other componants like the locks.

That's the first thing to try and the most likely.
The other is not what we want here. Damaged componants
and or burn circuits, so make certain ALL masters
and any othe fuses ar proper.

Good testing!
